DIMENSÕES DO ESTADO CONTEMPORÂNEO: UMA REVISÃO DA LITERATURA SOBRE CONDIÇÕES, CRITÉRIOS E RESULTADOS DA ATUAÇÃO ESTATAL

Resumo

A literatura que investiga a atuação do estado tem abordado o tema adotando terminologias e conceitos que ganharam ampla disseminação, porém, são muitas vezes empregados de forma imprecisa, o que dificulta a comparabilidade e o acúmulo de conhecimento científico.  Este artigo analisa a produção científica recente, publicada em periódicos brasileiros e internacionais para identificar possíveis pontos de diálogo entre as diversas abordagens e propor um modelo de análise para orientar futuras pesquisas no tema. O artigo apresenta uma revisão da literatura com base no levantamento e seleção de 39 artigos indexados nas bases Scielo, Science Direct e Google Scholar, utilizando como descritores de busca os termos capacidades estatais, qualidade de governo e governança. O modelo analítico sugere o enquadramento dessa literatura segundo três dimensões: condições, critérios e resultados da atuação estatal.
