Between Self - Identity and Criminal Identity: The Path Traced Through the Feelings Experienced in the Prison

Abstract

This article's purpose is to check one of the possible causes that generate violence, through anthropology approach of emotions and identity processes, with the analysis of a text of the book "Feelings I live", produced by inmates who expressed through literature the feelings experienced in the period they were at the Penitentiary of the city of Rio Grande/RS. The choice of this theme is justified by the process of dehumanization of the human being which intensifies that relationship of crime and punishment, making the generating factors of violence, growing when it comes to recovery and serving sentence.
