Abstract

This article proposes an analysis of the benefits of public contracts for the reinsertion of ex-prisoners into the job market in the State of Maranhão, based on the perspective of the company's social and solidarity function. In order to highlight the relevance of this approach, this study examines how public contracts play a crucial role for social reintegration, not limited to the economic aspect alone. Furthermore, it analyzes the social and solidarity function of the company, the commitment and responsibility that organizations have in contributing to the well-being of the society in which they operate. In the context of Maranhão, public contracting policies for ex-prisoners are explored, highlighting the specific legislation and decrees that govern this practice. The critical analysis focuses on individual and social benefits, highlighting how these hires not only provide employment opportunities, but also contribute to reducing the stigma associated with criminal history, promoting a more inclusive society. To this end, the present study adopted the deductive method, based on a qualitative approach to the data and documents observed. It was concluded that public contracts in the context of the reintegration of ex-prisoners into the job market in the State of Maranhão represent a bridge towards the construction of a more just and supportive society, with the contribution of the company's social and supportive function as relevant instrument in this construction.
